What are ClosetMaid wire shelving and its components made from?

ClosetMaid's wire shelving is manufactured from cold drawn steel and coated in a white vinyl using a fluidised bed process. This means that all of the welds in the shelf are completely covered in the vinyl material to prevent rust or weak spots in your shelving.
Depending on the fixing system you choose, hardware materials vary.
Our Regular Fix method uses resin side wall brackets, wall clips and hanger bar supports, as well as white epoxy coated steel support brackets and support poles.
Our ShelfTrack method uses white epoxy coated steel hang tracks, wall standards and shelf support brackets, as well as a choice of resin or steel epoxy coated hanger bar supports.

Does ClosetMaid shelving contain any hazardous materials?

ClosetMaid shelving has a PVC coating with an exclusive mix of ingredients - none of which are listed as hazardous materials on OSHA 29CFR1910.1017.

Fixed Mount Hardware

Suitable for use with all shelving styles and depths. Hardware
consists of wall clips that fix the shelf to the rear wall, side
wall brackets where side walls are available to secure the
front edge of the shelf, and shelf support brackets at mid
points, or where no side walls are available.
 

ShelfTrack Adjustable Hardware

Suitable for use with All Purpose/ Linen, Heavy Duty &
CloseMesh shelving.

Not available for use with 22.8cm/9" deep shelving. 
Hardware consists of a horizontal Hang Track, vertical
Wall Standards and Shelf Support Brackets which enable
you to mount your shelving to the rear wall of your space
only. Once installed you can re-position or add shelving as
& when required, along the track to suit your needs.
